MDD, ADHD, CPTSD, Hypothyroidism and Narcolepsy. I won the gene lottery. 🙄 Adderall for narcolepsy and ADHD which is convenient. Weed and Paxil for CPTSD and MDD. Levothyroxine for my thyroid. Problem with the thyroid and narcolepsy is they both can make me tired. And with CPTSD, since I dream all night vividly, I get a lot of trauma dreams.

You sure did hit the gene lottery, . That is a lot to handle. It must be difficult at times to determine which condition is to blame for new or worsening symptoms. Do you feel like your doctors work together to treat your comorbidities? Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

Hi . Thanks for sharing. Do you feel that treatment for one condition helps ease symptoms of the others? - Lori (Team Member)

I have narcolepsy, sleep apnea, severe depression and anxiety. That's only a few of my comorbidities. I take modafinil 3x a day plus sunosi 1x a day for the narcolepsi and sleep with a CPAP plus I take a slew of medications for the other issues.

I am glad you are on some good medications and that they are helping. Did you ever try different masks with your CPAP to see whether it might be more comfortable? My husband hated the full face mask that came with his CPAP, so he switched to the nasal pillow. He's been using it for more than a decade now and can't sleep without it. Some people have to try multiple masks before they find one that is comfortable. - Lori (Team Member)

I am profoundly deaf in both ears, for which I have cochlear implants and a blood clotting disorder. Listening fatigue is real, and an added layer to narcolepsy that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. We keep on keeping on.

I can only imagine how challenging it must be to cope with the complexities and demands of daily life with both profound deafness and a blood clotting disorder, on top of managing narcolepsy. It's understandable how this could impact your energy and overall well-being. You're not alone in this journey, and it's important to take care of yourself and to keep reaching out to those who can provide support and understanding. I hope this platform helps you in that way.
