Irrational cry

Has narcolepsy ever caused you to make irrational decisions and/or actions?

  1. I'm not actually sure if it's due to my narcolepsy or not but I am naturally quite an impulsive person. I am very rash in my decision-making and very rarely think things through. One factor that did exacerbate this in me was taking stimulants. It made me make every single worst decision you can imagine in the last 4 years. A months ago, I had to stop taking them as it drove me nearly to madness and even my family could not take it anymore. I don't know if this helps but if you have any questions let me know! Hope you're ok. Take care, Iris xxx

    1. Some people are just irrational kind of people, however, narcolepsy can affect our judgement. I've done many things over the yrs, and a month ago my narcolepsy was so horrible I cut myself 5 times...now i have extra scars lol smh

    2. Hey! Narcolepsy can certainly affect our judgment and it's so amazing that you are so open and honest in sharing your experience. I hope that you don't have to resort to that anymore in the future hun. It makes me incredibly sad to hear. I am always here to help and support in any way possible. Always remember that even if it feels like it sometimes, you are not alone and you have an entire community here that cares about you and is here for you whenever you need. Wishing you all the best! Take care of yourself! Iris xxx

  2. Unfortunately, yes, very often in fact. I have always been a very emotional person- some people might consider me blunt, but I just can't hide how I feel. I am thankful to say I haven't made any major irrational decisions, but I definitely have done some unkind things to those closest to me. I am grateful for the forgiveness and the patience I receive when I am having a bad day.
