Always tired?

I'm new, I have Asthma, Apnea, and my oxygen is dropping very very low when I sleep. I go to be tired and shortly after I wake I'm tired again! I'm always tired! I have slept up to 2 1/2 days with no problem. My son thinks I'm lazy but I'm not. I'm 70 years old. When I'm asked about how much I fall asleep I'm not being truthful to my Palminologest because I'm afrade he won't let me drive. I fall asleep mostly watching TV, reading, if I take a bath, anytime I am inactive for a length of time. Like today I got my grandson off to school came home, got in my recliner and didn't hear my alarm to pick him up? I don't remember going to sleep? I even fall asleep in the middle of praying. My son says it's because I sleep to much? My father had Narcolepsy. He would fall asleep waiting for a city bus, or once he got on it.

  1. I'm sorry you're struggling right now. I understand not wanting to be fully honest with your doctor in fear of what might happen, but you never know how much it could help you to open up. Maybe there is a medication you could try that would help you feel more alert during the day, or maybe a lifestyle/diet change that would help the excessive daytime sleepiness you're struggling with. I encourage you to open up to your doctor about how you're truly feeling. Best of luck to you!

    1. I am so sorry your having a hard time breathing at night. I really sorry your grandson is not being more supportive. I can relate about sleeping through alarms. I found that if I placed the alarm far away from my bed. When it goes off I have to get out if bed to shut it off.
