Question

Does anyone that has Narcolepsy without cataplexy has short memory loss like myself?

Does anyone feel like they can't complete certain tasks?

I'm just trying to make sure I'm not alone

  1. You are definitely not alone!

    1. I have this too. What has helped me is to make lists or notes for myself if it’s something important so I don’t forget.

      1. I struggle with this ALL the time. I can be mid-conversation and completely lose my train of thought. Just this morning I was having a conversation about a realization I had the other day, and mid-sentence I stared off in the distance and said "uhm... what was I talking about?"
It is super frustrating, but I try to give myself grace. My brain is very sleep deprived. It isn't my fault that I struggle to remember things, and it doesn't make me stupid or broken. I hope you remind that to yourself too!

        1. Yes. I ended up finding out I had narcolepsy because of these things. I thought it would be more like ADHD, with having difficulty focus, difficulty with things like - I'll be on the computer and think that I need to look something up on Google, and then I open the web browser and forget why I did it. Very much the thing where you walk into a room and forget why you did, just for me much more frequently.

I have a lot of tasks I feel like I can't complete, and there's no reason I can't - I have time, I have the resources necessary, and then I try and I just kind of can't.

I don't know if this is the same as what you're saying, but I thought maybe similar.
