Is anyone else always hot?

No, I’m not complimenting myself, rather I’m turning into a sweaty mess. With rising temperatures I’m finding heat to be more and more of a problem. Polite conversations can become awkward as sweats drips down my face and my ability to spend time outside decreases. I worry that perhaps amphetamines are to blame but I don’t want to have to choose between being awake or roasting alive.

  1. Anyone touching me immediately knows when I’m about to fall asleep because my body temp goes up significantly. Waking up in someone’s arms is not an opportunity for me. I’m like a furnace. When I get out of bed in the morning I’m freezing no matter the season, because my body temp regulates quickly. If I stay in bed to regulate before getting up, I run the risk of falling asleep again. I’m definitely a shower in the morning not at night person!

    1. I'm not always hot. I am sometimes cold when everyone else is hot. I will say that I am more frequently hot than cold. It comes on suddenly and I instantly start sweating. It could be below zero when I suddenly become overheated. I feel like I am in perpetual menopause. I should have chosen "HotFlashy" as my username! 😀

  2. Hi . That must be frustrating and uncomfortable. I am not sure whether amphetamines might be part of the problem, but I do know that narcolepsy and body temperature are related. Here is an article that explains it better than I can: https://narcolepsy.sleep-disorders.net/living/body-temperature. I wonder whether this relationship might have something to do with it. Have you mentioned the sweating to your doctor? Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
