I was diagnosed 32 years ago. I used to be on medication for narcolepsy but stopped taking it a long time ago. I have learned over time that taking naps can help ease the fatigue; eating small meals throughout the day; drinking plenty of water; getting some form of exercise and also talking to the people around you about your narcolepsy. I also have insomnia so sleep is alot of times elusive. But, somehow, I have learned to adapt and deal with the baggage that comes with suffering from narcolepsy, insomnia and night paralysis. It can be done. I hope this helps someone along their journey. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค—

  1. Yes good to give in to sleepiness for fatigue. I used to think I just had chronic fatigue syndrome. I didn't know narcolepsy causes it. I take Adderall now. And sometimes I don't take it. I think from the days taking it, it's training my brain to be okay on the days I don't take it. Like I don't get a withdrawal symptom or rebound of the narcolepsy.

    1. Hello! Do you have type 1 or type 2 narcolepsy? Thank you so much for sharing some of the tips that you find helpful. Naps and drinking plenty of water really me too so these are great tips! I also struggle a lot with insomnia too, do you have any tips on how you manage this? Best wishes, Bella (Team Member)
