How do you manage daily life regarding driving? My radius is approximately 5 miles, and that is after a nap and with medications. How do people with narcolepsy manage to get places safely?

That’s the thing that drives me crazy it’s getting where I can figure out in the morning when I wake up if I’m going to have a good day or not. So I would like to drive to town to the grocery store, which is only 8 miles from my house, but my family is afraid for me to drive.

I stopped driving 3 years ago after being stopped by the police for swaying to the side. I also live in a rural area with limited public transport. Deep down I knew I shouldn’t be driving at all. It’s completely immaterial where you live. The question is should you be driving full stop. It would be interesting to have a secret poll and ask “do you think you are completely safe to drive. I knew I wasn’t until my license got taken away.

That would be interesting,

I have to drive myself everywhere. I drink coffee, take my Sunosi every morning and if I have that strong urge to sleep, even if I'm driving to and from work, I pull over and take a micro nap. I live in the country and 30 minutes from my work. I don't have a choice. I've pulled over to take a micro nap when I was just a few miles from my house before. Sometimes, the urge is just that strong.
