Driving - Travel - How do you manage?

How do you manage daily life regarding driving? My radius is approximately 5 miles, and that is after a nap and with medications. How do people with narcolepsy manage to get places safely?

  1. make somebody drive me or have somebody with me at all times just in case I do have a spell

    1. Ì do not agree with most PWN driving. I believe it's a tragedy waiting to happen. My N was well controlled for quite sometime. I could always tell when a sleep attack was going to happen. Overnight I started just going out, it can happen fast.

      1. It sure can. Have you stopped driving? If so, do you have public transportation or other ways to get where you need/want to go? Best wishes. - Lori Foster (Team Member)

    2. I gave up my license. I don't want to hurt anyone.

      1. At this time I rely on my husband for rides. I have no social life to speak of so it works for us. Thank you for asking

      2. Adding a bunch of gentle hugs to those warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    3. I frequently drive 2 hours to visit my parents. I take the route that has several small towns, in case I get sleepy. I also pack snacks and several drinks for the road, water, soda and an energy drink. Starbucks helps too 😁.

      1. That sounds like a good strategy, especially the Starbuck part! 😀 - Lori (Team Member)
