just started having parasomnia nonsense

A few months ago, i started punching and kicking my wife in my sleep. We've been married for 40 years, narcoleptic for probably 20. On modafinil. Never had this issue. It just came out of the blue! Not more than once or twice a week. Very vivid dreams. I can tell her what they are usually. zombies or chihuahuas trying to attack me, whatever. It's been going on for months. I have a new sleep study next week. but Anyone else have this happen? and know why?
I also found this( https://narcolepsy.sleep-disorders.net/living/sexual-health-male-perspective )it made me realize I had another narcolepsy symptom unknowingly bugging me. Delayed orgasm. I'm sure she's fine with it, but it's a bit frustrating when you want to get on with your life... Both things showed up around the same time.

  1. Yeah she's not thrilled with the situation right now. But we're going to work it out next week! Oh, I wake up as soon as I become aggressively active, so I've not hurt her, just some scares. She has started to wake and notice when I'm ramping up to an outburst. I move and talk in my sleep.

    1. That must be scary for both you and you wife, . Is she able to wake you when that happens? Some of your symptoms are not uncommon for people with narcolepsy, but it would be good to rule out new reactions (delayed side effects) to your medication or hormonal changes that are changing its effect along with the possibility of a different condition altogether. I hope you get some answers from you sleep study. Please let us know how it goes. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
